Description
The EdLab Publishing Center at the Gottesman Libraries of Teachers College, Columbia University seeks an innovative professional to provide leadership to create and enhance our web-based publishing resources and services including established journals such as Teachers College Record. The Online Publishing Developer will develop and manage the programming and content for scholarly journals as well as provide support and input with a variety of educational and research projects at EdLab. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities:
• The Publishing Developer will frequently collaborate with members of the EdLab to develop and enhance online publishing resources and services.
• Apply principles of information architecture and usability to develop effective site interfaces and navigation structures.
• Advance strategies and assess new technologies to incorporate the latest developments in online publishing—both text and video—into current publishing projects.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Ability to work independently and as a team member on a variety of simultaneous projects in an intellectually diverse, and collaborative environment, as well as willingness to learn and share your knowledge are vital.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff and students of varied backgrounds.
• Interest in learning about new methods of disseminating information and current issues and trends in online publishing, working knowledge of contemporary programming languages, knowledge of Bricolage or similar proprietary and open-source content management systems.
• Must have broad technical knowledge in computer systems, online platforms, and network systems.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or a related field.
