We live in exiting times and Engineers are in the forefront. Engineering is serious businesses, but it is also a challenge and it can be fun. Engineers aim to extend our human capacities. With research and design the engineers work at the cutting edge. It provides the tools to build our modern society. Without these technological advances our world would come to a dramatic standstill.

People who have a background in scientific or technical education are essential to our society, both for developing new products and services and for scientific and social change and innovation. Sufficient availability of knowledge workers is required for the European economy to have a good competitive position. Knowledge-intensive businesses prefer to operate in an inspiring and innovative climate, and people are no different. That is why we need to attract to engineering as many students as possible, male and female, from all social and cultural backgrounds.

Within the scope of the general theme a number of Sub-themes is proposed:

o Curriculum Development (CDWG)
o Continuing Engineering Education (WGCEE)
o Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
